June 2026

Chenlu’s collaborative paper with Vibha Kalra’s group on battery recycling is now out in Energy and Environmental Science! Read more about it in the Cornell Chronicle!

The group goes to the CECAM Flagship Workshop on Physics-aware Machine Learning for Molecules and Materials hosted at Cornell Tech in NYC!

Chenlu presented a poster on applying MLIPs to study bimetallic catalysts and Prajwal presented a poster on physics-aware active learning schemes for MLIP development!

Shuwen led the organization of the workshop along with co-organizers Camille Bilodeau (UVA), Andrew Rosen (Princeton), Stefano Martiniani (NYU), and Juan de Pablo (NYU)! And she gave a talk on our exciting new work in uncertainty quantification and active learning algorithms for MLIPs!

In between CECAM sessions, Shuwen also squeezed in a side quest across the river to give a talk at the Artificial Intelligence for Basic Research in Medicine and the Life Sciences Symposium at Weill Cornell!

May 2026

Shuwen gives an invited talk at the DOE Center for Enhanced Nanofluidic Transport (CENT) EFRC!

We received a SPROUT Award from Cornell Duffield Engineering to fund a collaboration with Yu Zhong (Cornell MSE) and Nick Abbott (Cornell CBE)!

Lyndon’s co-first author paper on ML for predicting experimental parameters for biomass pyrolysis in collaboration with Iris Yu’s group at NUS is now out in Bioresource Technology!

April 2026

Farewell dinner for our postdoc Osman, who will be starting a new position at LANL!

Shuwen gives an invited seminar at the City College of New York (CCNY) Department of Chemical Engineering!

Shuwen gives an invited seminar at the University of Arkansas Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering!

March 2026

Osman’s DGKL paper is accepted in Digital Discovery!

Chenlu presents a poster at the CBE Graduate Student Symposium, CBE Open House, and Chemistry Graduate Research Symposium!

Shuwen is organizing a CECAM workshop on Physics-Aware ML for Molecules and Materials June 1-3, 2026 at Cornell Tech in NYC! Registration here.

Our 2026-2027 NSF ACCESS allocation has been awarded! This provides GPU and CPU resources from the San Diego Supercomputing Center (SDSC) to support our research projects!

February 2025

Aditi’s paper on ML for ionic liquids is accepted in Digital Discovery in the Emerging Investigator Collection!
